Upon graduation from high school, I attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University earning a Bachelor of Science degree in wildlife conservation.  After an enlistment in the U.S. Marine Corps as a military policeman, I earned a Master of Science degree in Industrial Management from Northeastern State University.  Later, I pursued post-graduate work at Oklahoma State University in environmental science and sociology.

I have worked as an environmental department director, water planner, recreation planner, fisheries technician, park ranger, natural resource management instructor and activist.  I currently teach sociology both online and on ground for several colleges.

I have lived in the Clearwater Valley for ten years with my wife Christine and children Carson, Bridger, and Hannah.
